Casa Paracaima es un proyecto residencial ubicado al poniente de la ciudad de México. El terreno es de forma rectangular de 400m2 con restricciones de colindancia al frente y a los lados.

La idea rectora fue la de tener las sensación de un contacto directo con el exterior en el los espacios públicos y borrar así el limite físico entre interior y exterior para poder crear espacios contenidos donde se puedan realizar la mayor parte de las actividades.

Las características propias del terreno y sus restricciones dieron forma al planteamiento de la casa, logrando un esquema conformado por dos cuerpos intersecados para obtener la mayor área posible de jardín orientada al sur.

El primer volumen es un marco de concreto aparente de 25 cm de espesor y 7.5 m de altura, que enmarca el espacio exterior creando una terraza techada a gran altura que sirve de espacio de transición entre el interior y exterior y que además alberga una biblioteca cerrada con cristales dando la sensación de estar inmersa en el resto del espacio exterior.

El marco de concreto fue colado con cimbra hecha a base de duelas de diferentes tamaños, la cual fue reutilizada en la carpintería de la casa minimizando desperdicio y maximizando recursos.

El segundo volumen es un cuerpo mucho más masivo y hermético que  alberga en la parte más privada como las recámaras y baños en planta alta y sólo se perfora en planta baja para albergar la sala comedor y conectarla con la terraza.

Casa Paracaima is a residential project located in the western part of Mexico City. The plot of land is a 400 square meter rectangle with adjoining restrictions on both the front and sides.

The theoretical idea was to produce the sensation of direct contact with the exterior in those public spaces and erase the physical limits between interior and exterior for the power to create spaces that are contained and where one can realize the major part of their activities.

The characteristics of the land and its restrictions game for to the plan for the house, establishing a scheme that conformed to two bodies intersected to obtain the most area possible for the garden that was oriented to the south.

The first layer is a frame of concrete that is 25 centimeters thick and 7.5 meters high, that marks the exterior space creating a high room terrace that serves as a space of transition between the interior and exterior and also shelters the enclosed library in glass, giving it the sensation of being immersed in the rest of the exterior space.

The wood used to pour the concrete was used again for some of the woodwork inside the house, effectively minimizing waste and maximizing resources. 

The second level is a body much more massive and sequestered that harbors the most private part of the structure like the bedrooms and bathrooms in the top floor and only ruptures the bottom floor to harbor the kitchen and connect it to the terrace.
