Neptuno 14 consistía en ampliar los metros cuadrados de construcción de una casa existente ubicada en Tecamachalco, al poniente de la ciudad de México. Esta intervención estaría ubicada en la azotea y se debía construir con la casa habitada en un corto periodo de tiempo.

El propósito era generar un espacio como un elemento independiente en estructura y forma pero que de cierta manera dependiera del otro para existir; se buscaba crear un dialogo de partes más que la ampliación de algo existente

Al estar ubicado en la parte más alta de la casa, se buscó aprovechar las vistas para generar un espacio en torno a una terraza.

El proyecto se conectó al resto de la casa por medio de las escaleras, creando éste un espacio de transición entre la casa existente y el nuevo elemento, para dar énfasis se optó por un material transparente y traslúcido con el fin de crear un espacio ambiguo donde no tienes las vistas claras hacia el exterior hasta que llegas  a la azotea.

En ella se alberga el otro cuerpo donde se encuentra la sala y la recamara con vestidor y baño donde todo vive a una terraza con el fin de aprovechar las vistas.

Se optó por utilizar una estructura metálica forrada con paneles prefabricados para acelerar el proceso constructivo.

Neptuno 14 was a project to amplify area of an existing house in Tecamachalco, in the western part of Mexico City. This intervention would add on the flat roof and had to be undergone in the habituated house in only a short period of time.

The proposition was to generate a space that was an element independent of structure and form but that in a certain way depended on the others to exist. We looked to create a dialogue with these two parts, more than the addition that already existed.

For being located in the highest part of the house, we strove to make the most of the views that generate the space and encircle the terrace.

The project connects to the rest of the house through the middle stairs, forming that as a space of transition between the existing house and its new element that gives emphasis and is optimized by its transparent and translucent material that creates an ambiguous space where one doesn’t have clear views of the exterior until they reach the roof.

In the addition is housed the other body where one encounters the living room and bedroom with dressing room and bathroom, where lives a terrace with the end of improving the views.

We chose to utilize the metallic structure lined with prefabricated panels to accelerate the construction process.
