PROYECTO: DCPParquitectos (Pablo Pérez Palacios, Alfonso de  la Concha Rojas)

El proyecto de Toronjos consistía en crear las áreas comunes y la alberca de un edificio de vivienda existente, ubicado en Bosques de las Lomas, en el poniente de la ciudad de México. El terreno sobre el cual se desplanta el edificio está en pendiente, dejando al descubierto una gran parte de la estructura, en lo que sería el sótano.

En Toronjos se buscó trabajar con el espacio perdido y residual que ya está estructurado y sin uso, este espacio resultado de la estructura necesaria para absorber la pendiente del terreno  con el fin de reconfigurarlo y darle un uso que responda a las necesidades del condominio

De esta manera, la solución del proyecto y de los espacios que se generan queda definida por la estructura existente. Ésta se cubre y el espacio se adapta para otorgarle un nuevo uso, en este caso el de las áreas comunes del edificio.

Para resolver la iluminación y lograr meter luz natural  a la alberca se extendió la estructura existente debajo del edificio generando perforaciones en la losa.

Estas aperturas varían a lo largo de la alberca; se van abriendo y cerrando, con la finalidad de que se puedan saber y leer sus dimensiones debajo del agua.

The project of Toronjos consisted in creating the swimming pool and common areas for an existing housing building, located in Bosques de las Lomas, in the western part of Mexico City. The plot where the building pulls up is a very sloped terrain, leaving most of the structure discovered, in what would be the basement.

In Toronjos we wanted to work with the lost space, the residual space, which is structured but has no use. It is the space that results from the necessary structure that the building requires to absorb the slope of the terrain. We wanted to reconfigure this space and give it a new use that would respond to the necessities of the building.

In this way, the solution to the project and the spaces is defined by the existing structure, which is covered and the space is adapted for a new use, in this case the common areas.

To solve the illumination with natural light, we extended the existing structure under the building generating perforations on the slab. This perforations vary along the swimming pool; they open and close with the finality that the dimensions of the pool can be read under the water.
